Tunica Casinos Awaits Site Approval
Three casino groups that plans to develop casinos in Tunica are waiting for the site approval from the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
The proposed Tunica casino is a portion of the projected plan of Myriad World Resorts, valued at almost two billion dollars, in Tunica.
The plan of Myriad World Resorts is drawing attention because its includes six casinos, a golf course inside a dome, a convention center and an observation wheel similar to the London Eye.
The resort will also include a snow park, spa, entertainment venue and a water park.
In the six casinos, the Myriad Resorts was authorized to run one casino.
Three casino groups that await the approval of the Mississippi Gaming Commission includes MHA Gaming Co. LLC, Sky Dancer LLC and the High Plains Holding Co.
Mandan Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, owns the MHA Gaming Co, while Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians owns the Sky Dancer LLC and Ervin J. Lee of Minot and Dwaine J. Heinrich of Jamestown, co-own the High Plains Holding.
Sam Begley, lawyer of the three companies said that the companies will operate as commercial enterprises and not as tribal gaming.
Begley said that the three companies are applying for casino licenses in Mississippi and would pay Mississippi gaming revenues.
